This orthodontic treatment uses a series of transparent aligners to move your teeth into proper alignment gently. At La Mesa Dental Services, each aligner is custom-made for your mouth using detailed teeth impressions and is used in succession over a designated period. You will wear each aligner day and night for two weeks, removing it only to eat or brush your teeth. As you progress through treatment, you will notice changes to your smile as the aligners gradually reposition your teeth. This is followed by a brief in-office visit to our office so our team can adjust your treatment plan and provide the next set of aligners. These visits are often scheduled every six weeks to monitor your progress and ensure treatment is progressing as planned.
The Benefits of Invisalign
Clear aligners allow you to maintain your oral hygiene routine of brushing and flossing efficiently.
They are removable and can be taken out for eating and cleaning your teeth.
The smooth plastic surface prevents scratches or abrasions on the inside of your mouth.
You can remove them for special occasions like weddings, graduations, reunions, and other photos you will treasure for a lifetime.
Aligners are easy to care for and can be cleaned by soaking them in lukewarm water.
They are much more comfortable than metal braces and are an aesthetically appealing option.
The Invisalign Procedure
We’ll take impressions of your teeth during your initial visit using state-of-the-art 3D imaging technology. These impressions will be used to create your personalized set of aligners. You’ll wear the first set of aligners for about a week before switching to the next set in the series. The aligners are worn for at least 22 hours daily and removed only to eat, brush, and floss your teeth. As you switch to the next set of aligners, you can watch your smile transform before your eyes!
Once you’ve completed treatment, you can expect to enjoy all of the benefits of straight teeth for life! This means an improved appearance and the ability to eat and speak normally without experiencing any pain or discomfort when your aligners are on. Many patients who have opted for this treatment option have reported relief from symptoms caused by bite misalignment, including headaches, jaw pain, and frequent tooth grinding.
